From Ballina, to Double Bay, to the Beaches.
I grew up in Ballina, on the far north coast, and came down to Sydney for school. That is where I met the three blokes who would go on to start MortgageWorks, which is a long way of saying I got into this game through people rather than through a plan.
Before broking I spent six years as an agent at Richardson & Wrench in Double Bay. Auctions, vendors, buyers, contracts, the lot. When my mates started MortgageWorks in 2020 I came across about six months later.
That agency background is the thing that actually sets me apart. I have sat on the other side of the table. I know what the agent is thinking, what the vendor has already been told, and exactly where a finance clause is going to hurt you. Most brokers have never run a campaign or watched a deal wobble three days out from settlement. I have, plenty of times.
How I work
Solutions based, and thinking about the loan after this one.
I am pretty easy going, and I am solutions based. I write loans across a panel of 54 lenders through MortgageWorks, which is a wide field but not every lender in the country. If something does not work at one, that does not mean it does not work anywhere, and a decent part of my job is knowing the difference. I do not dwell on a knock back, I go and find the way through it.
I also think in the long game. I would rather set a loan up properly today than win it this week and have you unpicking it in two years. That applies to how I deal with people as well. Do the right thing, do the work, and the rest tends to follow.

Who I work with
Most of my clients have something a calculator cannot handle.
Professionals and business owners
Often with a company or a trust sitting behind them. Those files need someone willing to actually work them rather than run the numbers and tell you no.
The Eastern Suburbs
Where I spent six years in real estate. I know that market and a lot of the people working in it.
The Northern Beaches
Where I live. Increasingly where the work is, and where I would rather meet you in person.
Away from work
Belrose, a wife, and a dog who thinks he is on the payroll.
I live in Belrose with my wife Kirsty and our dog Schooner, who is fairly convinced he is part of the business. We were in Manly and Neutral Bay before that, so I have covered a bit of the city.
I work from home on the Beaches most of the week and I am in the Surry Hills office the rest of the time. Outside work it is golf, the gym, and the Dragons, who test the resilience far more than the job ever has.
Who I write loans through
MortgageWorks, and it is worth being clear about that.
I am a credit representative, number 541159, authorised under Australian Credit Licence 389328. Every loan I write goes through MortgageWorks, and their compliance team reviews this site and anything else I put out.
That is not fine print, it is the arrangement, and you are entitled to know exactly who you are dealing with and who stands behind the advice.
Since the firm started in 2020 it has been recognised with a place on The Adviser's Top 25 Brokerages list for 2025, and on Mortgage Professional Australia's Top Brokerages list for the same year. That is the team's rather than mine, but if you are trusting one bloke with the biggest loan of your life it is fair to want to know what sits behind him.
