What I collect, why I have it, who ever sees it, and how you get it back or corrected. Last updated 18 August 2026.
What I collect
Only what you give me, and only when you make contact.
This website does not have a contact form. There is nothing on it that captures your details, and simply reading it does not tell me anything about you.
I collect personal information when you contact me directly, by phone, email or in person. That is usually your name, phone number and email address to begin with. If you decide to go further than a first conversation, I will need the sort of information any credit application requires: your income, employment, assets, debts, expenses, identification documents and details of the property involved.
I only ask for information I actually need to give you credit assistance. If you would rather not provide something, tell me, and I will explain what it means for what I can do.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not track you.
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or social media tracking pixels. Nothing on it builds a profile of you or follows you to other sites.
The site is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, which can include an IP address and browser type. That is ordinary infrastructure logging rather than something I look at, and it is not linked to you by name.
How I use it and who sees it
To do the job you asked me to do.
Your information is used to assess what you are trying to achieve, to work out which lenders suit, and to prepare and submit an application if you decide to proceed. All of my credit work is submitted under MortgageWorks, Australian Credit Licence 389328, so your information is handled under their systems and their privacy obligations as well as mine.
Where it is necessary for your application, information may be disclosed to lenders and their insurers, credit reporting bodies, valuers, and your own solicitor, conveyancer, accountant or financial adviser where you have asked me to deal with them. I do not sell your information and I do not give it to anyone for marketing.
A credit application normally involves a credit reporting body. Where that happens it is covered by the credit reporting provisions of the Privacy Act, and MortgageWorks can provide the detail on which bodies are used and how to deal with them.
How it is stored
Held securely, and not kept longer than it needs to be.
Records are kept in the systems MortgageWorks provides, which are access controlled. Paper documents are avoided where possible, and anything on paper is stored securely or returned to you.
Credit records have to be retained for a period set by law and by the licensee, so your information is not deleted the moment a loan settles. Once those periods pass, records are destroyed or de-identified.
Getting access, or fixing something
Ask me and I will sort it.
You can ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, and you can ask me to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Call 0419 169 166 or email jackgreentree@mworks.com.au. There is no charge for asking, and I will respond within a reasonable time. If I cannot give you access for some reason, I will tell you why in writing.
If you are not happy with how your information has been handled, raise it with me first. If that does not resolve it, you can take it to MortgageWorks as the licence holder, and then to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), the free external dispute resolution scheme. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
If this policy changes, the updated version goes on this page with a new date at the top.
Worth a conversation before you go to a bank.
No obligation, no application, and I will tell you honestly if I am not the right person for it. Give me a call or send a note and I will come back to you.
